Wayne Tarken's World of Leadership

A place (world) for the personal side of leadership success

"When I agreed to be the speaker at the March CEO's Women's Club event I was not quite sure what to expect.

In reality, I was more than pleasantly surprised!
Wayne has put together a group of INCREDIBLE women executives.

It is the first event I have attended as the keynote speaker where I was overwhelmed by the talent and accomplishments in the room.  DO NOT miss the opportunity to get "up front and personal" with Christine Poon, vice chair of Johnson & Johnson.

Wayne is really on to something here. "

Judy Spires -
CEO - Acme Markets

“I have found the CEO Women’s Club to be exactly as Wayne Tarken described it to me….a group of like-minded senior executives who could discuss challenges and learn from each other in a confidential environment with the intention of continual leadership growth.  The sessions that I have attended were not only inspiring and energizing, but directly resulted in new business.”

Denise L. Devine, CEO & President, Nutripharm, Inc.

“Christine was a very candid and open speaker.  This triggered a great discussion about understanding the environment we work in and how to navigate.  Since this forum allows a safe environment, the participants feel comfortable opening up, which has allowed for some candid and powerful sharing.  I really enjoyed this session.”

Michele Dorris, GM, Rohm & Haas

I  want to thank you for your invitation to the CEO Women’s Club. The event was outstanding. Vik Dewan’s presentation on the Triple–Bottom Line was powerful. I rarely get so much useful information out of a 1 hour presentation. Vik has a knack for engaging the audience and offering solutions that will work for any management team. However, I must say the real value is in the interaction with the other Women CEOs. You have developed a wonderful environment where very successful and powerful women come to share ideas and learn from each other. NOT AN EASY TASK. I hope your group continues to grow.  Thanks again.

Terriann Procida, President, Innovative Benefit Planning, L.L.C.

"I have attended many group discussions, networking, and business executive forums over the past 25 years in business.  The CEO Woman's Club is one the best !  The exchange of ideas, concerns and practical solutions are terrific.  Well worth the investment of time."

Lee B. Zeplowitz  - President-The  Zeplowitz Group

I have attended all types of networking and informational events over a 25 year span.  None have been so worth my time as Wayne Tarken's CEO circles.  The caliber of the speakers, and the wonderful interaction between the attendees.  I have participated in three events thus far, all very unique in terms of venue and content. The size of the circles have been small enough to allow a safe medium to openly share.  The common underlying theme has been a very authentic sharing of the basic challenges that we all face in our lives, no matter what our title.  Senior women in business tend to have unique challenges that business men do not.  These are brought to light in a very positive and supportive way.  The end result is a feeling of tremendous empowerment.

Marilyn Barry

I found it worth the time.  Vik sharing his perspective and what he's learned was awesome.  It's totally true.  If you have one area of your focus that is suffering and you get rid of that piece, it will help you.  Passion and purpose.  Profit vs. non-profit was insightful.  I loved the agenda and everything.

Sharon Tsao, Owner - Contemporary Staffing Solutions

"Our morning meeting at the Philadelphia Zoo with Vik Dewan, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Zoo, was absolutely inspiring and a highly effective use of my time.  I left with many new contacts, but just as importantly, with lots of ideas on how to translate some of the strategies, metrics and goals the Zoo has developed under Vik’s leadership to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at Temple.  Wayne has an incredible knack for finding accomplished and charismatic speakers that provide us with key learnings at each meeting.”

Jaine Lucas - Director - Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute, Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures - Fox School of Business, Temple University

Opportunities like the CEO Women’s Club offer women the opportunity to learn and grow from each other.  The program at QVC last week was an outstanding example of learning from some extremely successful women in a highly competitive industry – how they have been successful and what they have/are struggling with.  Both women we met are outstanding role models for ambitious, successful female professionals.

Anne Robson

Wayne Tarken has a talent for getting accomplished and inspiring women to open up and share how they maneuvered, occasionally made missteps and learned during their travels through the career labyrinth.”

Anita Zalewski - CEO - PSE Co.

“I can't say enough about it the recent event at QVC.  It was enlightening and encouraging to see women who have been so successful.  Realizing many successful woman go through the same struggles of balancing home and career, pushing through the glass ceiling and being respected for their ability and accomplishments was inspiring.  I think more woman need to network, mentor and encourage each other and this was a great environment to make that happen.  Although it’s sometimes difficult to step out of the daily grind to attend these type events, I think it is essential for continued growth.  It really was fantastic…..so glad I went!!”

Nancy Stefanowicz – NFI Industries

Very pleased with the time spent, the opportunity to meet wonderful people, and was very inspired by the speaker, Christine Poon.  It was very validating to hear her speak about her journey.

Dale Keshishian - SMART - Delaware County Community Foundation

Terrific discussion.  Christine Poon was very open and honest.  I thought the program was very interactive.  In general, the networking opportunity with quality individuals at senior levels along with alternating venues and topics, makes this quite an interesting group.

Lisa Gray - Phoenix IP Ventures

Understanding other attendees at the meetings and their backgrounds was valuable.  Best practices and finding out the challenges of others and what the defining moment was when you found out how you're going to do something.

Marcia O’Connor - The O'Connor Group

“The size of the group was optimal because it offered open free-flow of information.  The environment was comfortable and inviting.  The tour gave a behind the scenes glimpse of the comments that were made by Angie Simmons.  The event at QVC if it could be replicated, it is valuable in terms of creating the professional exchange and open and honest exchange for personal development.  Not a lot of encumbrances and interferences.  A lot of quality exchange and it was fun.  When you can enjoy an event and come away with some benefit, it’s a winning combination.  Thank you, these kinds of interludes are rare and hard to create.  Well done.”
